Summer rain
It rained today as if it would never stop. Heavy, then lighter, then misty, then pure buckets. Permeating the skin and creeping into the crevices of the heart. The kind of rain where leaving the house is an extreme option and all you want to do is curl up with a mug of tea.
I listened to the rain hammering down all afternoon and got caught while walking home. The droplets are only just visible on the path in this photo, splashing into the puddles.
I love rain. I love the metaphorical and literal cleanse it gives everything. Being outside is rare for me at the moment and the brief walk jolted me out of the depths of Javascript and word counts. The smell of damp plants and trees and the occasional soaking from a passing car was just enough to blow away the cobwebs.

Love it, Alice! I share your admiration of the rain, so much that I just had to go for a run in it yesterday… it was nice and invigorating!! I’m glad it gave you a distraction from all of that typing and coding. 🙂
Dude you’re a beast!!! Well done! Desperate for a run soon too now the weather’s a bit better. Just gotta keep working though 🙁
